2020 Camp Season
The Phenix City 2020 Camp Season is structured differently due to COVID-19. The Parks and Recreation Department is taking the necessary precautions in order to keep campers and employees safe, as well as implementing several “mini-camp” sessions in order to give as many children the opportunity to attend while still limiting group sizes. Camps are offered at the following facilities:
- Phenix City Youth Center
- Roy Martin Center
- Spencer Recreation Center
Structure
Mini-camp will consist of four two-week sessions starting June 8, 2020. Camp will be held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Eastern Time. Fridays will be used for an additional deep cleaning of the recreation centers. Each session is limited to a total of 20 campers. Parents / guardians may only register their child / children for ONE session this camp season in order to allow as many campers to participate as possible. No refunds.

Cost: $75 per child*
Day & Time: M – Th | 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. EDT

Precautions & Guidelines
The following will be implemented:
- Campers who have been diagnosed, have any symptoms, or have had contact with someone who has or is suspected to have COVID-19 within the past 14 days may not enter the facility
- Campers will be screened at drop-off: Campers who present a fever greater-than 100.4◦F, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, other respiratory symptoms, or at least two of the following symptoms: chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste/smell, will not be allowed to enter
- Anyone exhibiting the above criteria at any time while at mini-camp will be separated from the group immediately and leave the facility as soon as practicable
- Parents dropping off and picking up campers must remain in their vehicle
- Campers must wash hands at drop-off
- No visitors to camp activities and facilities
- Employees and campers will remain in the same group for the duration of the mini-camp
- Multiple breaks will be taken during the day requiring campers to wash / sanitize hands
- Equipment will be sanitized after each use
- Bathrooms will be cleaned and sanitized regularly during camp hours
- Employees are required to wear PPE; campers are highly encouraged to as well
- Campers are encouraged to bring personal water bottle
